I have a Virgil Donati Sig snare and I massively rate it. Not sure I'd pay full MW prices for it... But then I'm not sure I'd pay it for any snare haha. Its a good point though, I guess they could...

Agreed. I bought a Ludwig supraphonic when I was at uni in the states for something like $120. Sold it years later over here for something like £300... Might have been more!
I'll take any good...
Stunning! Have you got any close ups of the finish on the kit?
Thanks! Loving the sound from all of the cymbals, really happy with how they sound together, while all having a unique voice. So much fun to play!
Thought I'd give a quick updated view nearly 10 years after the original post...!
I've got new heads and a few new cymbals now, so updated specs below...
Same Gretsch Renown Maple (18, 12, 14)...
Haha! Yeah 20" hats made out of Foundry Reserve rides ;)
Yeah just 15" hats unfortunately! And 20" China as you say. Loving the bigger cymbals. First time using the hats and they're...
Well it would be rude not to post an updated bird's-eye view of my kit now that I've got some new hi hats, redheaded my kit and actually set up my own kit for the first time in probably 5 or 6 years!...
Looks mega! Good job. Just seen you're another UK man. Shout if your gigs (or anything else) ever bring you down south!
Thanks Josh :) Yeah I agree, although it's actually my first time owning 15" hats! The 13" Zildjian K/Zs were my first proper pair which I probably bought 13 or 14 years ago, so this is a big change....
Very much over the top! But since they're included tin the package when you get them I'll take them haha.
Cheers dude, the foundry reserve series are some of the most beautiful I think I've...
Just got back from a week away and these beauties were waiting for me when I got back! 15" Meinl Byzance Foundry Reserve hi hats.
This completes my set of Meinl cymbals now... I think... Pics...
Nowhere near as cool as some of the recent posts on here, but I recently put new heads and wires on my Pearl Virgil Donati Signature snare and finally had some nice weather to take pictures outside....
Just posted in another thread, but I'm so happy with this that I'll post it again...!
My cymbals but not my kit, just a practice kit at my parents' church, but pretty much how I'd set up mine if I...
Okay last one I promise... Other wise I'll bankrupt myself and/or become single...

And on the kit with the rest of my babies (Fat Stack included!). 'Scuse the mess, I was too...
Yeah I think you're right, looks like that's how he plays it too, although I've only ever seen it from the top... Bell down on the China on the bottom could be interesting but I don't think it would...
Wow, that's a stunning kit! Love the finish, reminds me of my old Starclassic, which I massively miss!
Thanks! The trash crash top is 18" and the bottom China is 16", so you get good contact between the edge of the China and the bottom of the crash. Can't wait to set up properly, I'll let you know how...
Damn that must be an awesome snare. I used the 14x4.75 when I was at uni and it was amazing. 13x6 must be nuts.
Just got this guy in the post... Meinl Byzance Fat Stack - Matt Garstka signature.
Managed to pick it up second hand in like-new condition other than fingerprints. Might give it a buff up and see...
Yeah think it's just the wall reflecting on it, but had to check with the Mrs because I'm colourblind and can barely see red haha. That would look awesome though!
Here's my last purchase before Xmas, but I just scored a new toy on eBay which should be coming early next week... I'll post an update when she arrives!

Beautiful. My first teacher had a 60s Rogers kit. Absolutely loved it! Although I only got to play it a few times.
Thanks mate. I've been having a nosey around on the forum seeing what's changed and saw you're getting a MW. That finish is unbelievable.
Yeah tough fitting practice in around life these days!...
Thanks guys, super happy to be back playing and good to have a new challenge! Matt's stuff is pretty nuts to be fair... He does a reasonable job at explaining the thinking behind the music in the...
Hi guys.
Been a while since I last posted... I got quite active on a coffee forum and realised I only have the capacity to do one forum! But I'm back and keen to talk some more drums. I've been...
