Sorry no idea, but it bugs me that the bass head isn't on straight!

That's beautiful and very...red!
I've just torn down my SRX kit, which I had setup as a practice kit with 2 stealth racks and a long rack bar, one end of which is clamped to a tripod stand. Initially setting up takes many hours to...
Virgin bass drums are for the purist and if you're going expensive but I think kick mounted toms offer more convenience and quicker tear down/build up time as otherwise you're gonna need a rack or...
According to this listing, yes it shows 2 snare stands in the photos. https://www.amazon.com/Pearl-Roadshow-RS525WFC-C31-5-Piece/dp/B00NJVS2ZC
It shows it with 14" and 16" toms.
The Pearl link...
Yes they'll be a slight upgrade, superhoops are a bit thicker (2.3mm vs 1.6mm IIRC) so should allow for more consistent tuning. Give them a go and see how they sound!
Those numbers look over the top to me. When I'm road cycling I'm burning 500-600 calories per hour, now way is drumming anywhere near the same effort as cycling.
Put the G1 coated on the batter side and get some G1 clears for the reso, Evans G1 = Remo Ambassador, so like TMD says above. That's the setup I have on my Arcadia birch bop kit for big band jazz.
Just ordered a bunch of Evans UV1 heads for my SRX kit (8-10-12-14-14snare-16-18-20UVEQ4-20UV1), G1 clears or coated to go on the Reso side TBD.
From what I've read, the UV1 heads are awesome and having a really wide tuning range. I'm playing big band jazz so want a brighter sound but also the potential to retune them for rock should the need...
Thanks for your replies guys, ash does have a really nice grain to it and those finishes are lush. Unfortunately the kit I was looking sold to someone else, I'll be bringing out my maple/mahogany SRX...
That listing is wrong, is my opinion. Looking at the Pearl web site there is a configuration RS525WFC/C which comprises:
22x16
12x9
14x14
16x16
14x6.5
Cymbal Stand
Hi-Hat Stand
Snare Stand x 2
Can you post a link to it? Seems mighty odd. Never heard of a 16FT 18" deep. And a 14x5.5 snare is obvs 5.5" deep.
If you want tone I'd suggest coated heads. A "go to" combination would be G2 coated over G1 clear, but I've heard that G1 coated on the Reso can produce good results. I'll be trying out UV1s on the...
I'm looking at getting a second hand kit with ash shells, does anyone here have an ash kit if so what do you like about them? Do the ash shells sound much different to maple or birch (appreciate some...
Those drums certainly look sweet. Where are you based - UK? Am following you on Flickr now. I do love a good loco pic :-)
That's one sweet rig! Love it.
GC doesn't exist in the UK, guess I'm lucky!
I want to be solidly anchored to the ground
In the UK its called a "car boot sale".
I use iDrumtume for iPad :-)
As tiny as possible ;)
It may be possible to push the bubbles out, depends how the wrap has been glued. If the glue isn't covering the shell and wrap 100%, it may be possible to push air bubbles...
Puncture it with the tiniest of holes.
Agree there is almost no need, but there is certainly a desire or craving. I was looking at the reference then reference pure range for a while, thinking what I'd really like. Then saw the Sonor SQ1...
The old prestige session selects are maple/mahogany and very nice, but then I'm biased.
