that was what i was going to reply. you must be one of the rare drummers around fredericton, wich is somehow good for you in the optic of buying drums. it's the same here. even if i'm living near montreal, ads for drum sales aren't moving fast,so it leaves space for a little thinking haha!

hell, bummer! the gretsch at that price is a very good deal. IIRC that drum has a 1.2mm brass shell. considering the offer for that kind of snare in other brands, you get a pretty darn good snare for nearly cheap haha! just the throw off may be something to look over....if it was possible, i would try to see if a SR-1000 throw off would fit that drum.

myself i'm working a deal for a reference brass in 14x5.5. i'm just trying to lower the price. the seller asks 375,i offered 300$ will see how it turn out. i have also an eye on a copper free floater 14x5 last generation with the SR-1000 throw off.

if the reference deal doesn't happen, i may work on this one.....not that i wanted a FF, but after some research i could get a brass insert wich might exactly fit my bill....altough i've never played a copper brass snare to this day, some tells that it doesn't ring like brass and is more closer to a wood snare than any other metal snare.
