I also travel a lot so i come upon all kinds of stuff.......like most likely those 2002 hats i gave you heads up on> Cheers

yeah im at bcit right now. i live in ridge and there are alot of good sized shops and theyve been in bussiness for many years. i took carpentry for a while and being a glorified labourer sucked. we'll see how things workout though hopefully goes well
hey bud. Where are you taking your classes? BCIT? I live out near Abbotsford and have been in cabinetry/custom millwork for almost 7 years now. It's cool you're getting your papers and hopefully you can land something out here because it seems all the shops are either big, mass-production shops that don't pay well, union shops (I refuse to work union) or brown guys. All the little shops are being turned over because the brownies can do it cheaper and faster, but a whole lot crappier. I have personally been laid off from over a dozen small shops because they can't compete with pricing anymore. people are more concerned with price then quality and by they time they see the junk they're getting for less money, it's too late.
Anyways bud, I don't want to discourage you but this isn't a great trades town. Depending on how young you are, you should think about heading to Alberta and work for a year or so. Sick $$$ to be made there.
