Ah Lonny, this past week has felt like we were all awash in some kind of wonderful dream. We've waited so long that it still taking a bit of time for it to settle in. The amazing realization that the Cubs are the 2016 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS! I don't know if you got to see on WGN America any of the parade/celebration that the City of Chicago held for the Cubs last Friday? The city estimated the crowds along the parade route and at Grant Park to be somewhere around 5 million people! We didn't mind just watching the all-day celebration on TV from the comfort of our living room. Spirits are running so high here in Chicago, and I tell you it truly is a magical feeling. It's the same way you must of felt when your Dodgers had won the WS! I know that your Raiders are playing the dastardly Broncos on Sunday Night Football tonight. I hope you guys crush 'em! Go Raiders!
Holy cow Lonny! The can-do Cubbies winning big tonight, forcing a game 7 in the World Series! They just need to win one more game, that's all we're asking for. Man, you can feel the energy here in Chi-town! The Bears win was a very nice, albeit unexpected, way to start the week. Your Raiders are rocking n' rolling out west! Great pics of your Halloween gig! I'm so glad that everything went well. Go Cubs go!
Thanks Lonny! Holy cow, your Dodgers gave us quite a series for the NL pennant! I'm still riding the high that washed over us Cub fans from Saturday night. As I'm sure you know, the Cubs haven't been to the World Series since 1945 (71 years!) and haven't won the World Series since 1908 (108 years!). Just being able to say that the Cubs are in the WS is HUGE to those of us that have been life-long fans during this historic drought. Man, we are hoping and praying that this is finally the year. Go Cubs Go!
Hey Lonny! Can you believe it? Your Dodgers and my Cubs are going head to head in the NLCS! How many years have we talked about how cool it would be to have both of our teams playing in the championship series with a chance to go to the World Series. Wow, this is amazing! Man, are we are flying high here in Chicago! As you said, good luck to the both of us, and this is gonna be fun!
A sweep of the Giants would be a good thing for us, and a great thing your Dodgers!
The Cubs' magic number is down to 14! This could be the season of destiny. Lord knows, it's been a long time since 1908! LOL!
Go Cubs!!! Go Dodgers!!!
P.S. - Diva looks fantastic in those new photos that you posted!
Cubs fans all across the world are sure hoping that that will be the case this year, and so far things are looking real good!
Wow, another close game yesterday! The Cubs just didn't have enough yesterday to come from behind and tie the game up. With each team 1-1, today's game should be a good one.
Sorry to hear that the gig didn't go as smoothly as could have, but this was the new band's first gig. I'm sure that with the lessons learned form the first one, the second OR's gig will go off with out a hitch. Or, a least without a crick in your back!
The Cubs played a double header against the Padres yesterday and wound up loosing both games 7-4 & 1-0. However, I believe that yesterday's losses were the first time this season that the Cubbies have lost two consecutive games in a row. So, although it wasn't ideal, I really can't complain. LOL!
Go Dodgers, go Cubs!

Great to hear from you Lonny! I'm sorry that I haven't been as active on the PDF as of late. I check in just about every other day. I wind up reading the threads that catch my eye and the ones that I've subscribed to, but I haven't been commenting much at all.
Although they lost earlier today, my Cubbies have had a fantastic start to the 2016 season. The loss of Kyle Schwarber for the season due to his leg injury was an early blow to the team. However, the Cubs' roster is deep enough that Joe Madden was able to fill his spot in the outfield without too much trouble. Still, Schwarber's lefty power will be missed at bat.
Here's hoping that all is well with you, Frieda, and Diva!
Thanks for the rep comment Lonnie! Hope you are doing well!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family too Lonny!

With a 5-8 record and three games left in this NFL season, the wheels have come off the wagon for my beloved Bears. The Bears just can't seem to win at home this year, no matter the "quality" of the opponent. Changes in the player roster are indeed in store for next year, or we are doomed to repeat history once again. Speaking of changes, the Cubbies have spent their off season acquiring some talent (Lackey, Zobrist, and Heyward) for next year's run for the Series!
The pics from last Saturday night's jam look like you all were having fun! Having fun and playing sweet music should be what it's all about!
