372 MA members is super groovy!

Fall is in the air and the Dodgers definitely took care of business here in the Windy City. I was amazed/happy that the Cubbies were able to take even one game from that powerhouse team of yours. Go Dodgers!

I love that whole baseball scene from Naked Gun. Especially the part where Lt. Frank Drebin butchers the National Anthem! LOL!

371 MA members is truly a sight and sound to behold!
Well, the Bears surprised everybody (including us fans) with a nationally televised win against the 49ers last night. In the 49ers new stadium, none the less! The Bears hadn't won an away game against the 49ers since our much lauded 1985 season! It was really a tale of two games in one. The first half I was yelling at the TV because the Bears could do nothing right. However, in the second half we were cheering because it seemed as if the Bears could do nothing wrong! LOL! I wish that your Raiders had gotten off to a better start so far. After the Bills beat us at our home opener, it really looked as though we were going to start the season 0-2.

Go Dodgers! Beat them Giants and Rockies! The Dodgers start their series with the Cubbies on Thursday.

Rest assured that was a fluke.
The Cubbies must of had a big 'ole extra bowl of Wheaties on those mornings! LOL!

Vin Scully is a true baseball broadcasting legend!
The fact that you grew up listening to him: A) How cool is that? Very cool! B) He will always be the one and only voice of baseball for you. You couldn't ask for a better commentator/person in that regard. For me, it was Jack Brickhouse first and then Harry Carry on 720 AM WGN radio.

Both of our football teams got off to a bad start yesterday. My Bears lost to the Bills by 3 points in overtime here at home. D'oh!
You're right, the Dodgers are playing the Cubbies in Chi-town for a 4 game stretch starting September 18th. I don't think that we'll pose much of a threat to that powerhouse team of yours from LA. LOL!

    Hey Lonny,

I hope that you and the guys had a good jam last night!
What happened with the Red Glass thread being closed? Did the political comments get a little out of hand or something? Did they (Pearl's Admins) give you a warning, or at least a date/time that the thread could be reopened?

Fall is on its way, but we've had such a wonderful summer weather-wise that I hate to think that it will be coming to an end. Sunny skies, temps in the mid to upper 70s, hardly any sign of horrible humidity at all. It has been great! My stomach can only tolerate the very mildest of chili, and no peppers of any kind. I'm trying to imagine the smell of the roasting peppers in the air. Is it a sweet smell, or acrid? I guess it would depend on the type of pepper itself.

368 MA members rockin' in a free world! (Well, hopefully.)

Our newest member, William Parodi, just signed up! He has the beautiful new Bronze Glass MCX kit with the BB-3 mount.
Well, the good ole' Cubbies somehow managed to finagle 2 out of 3 from the Dodgers! Can you believe it? It just goes to show you that anything can happen in sports. The NFL Hall Of Fame game between the Bills and the Giants is coming on next on NBC. I might check some of that game out, even if it's just a preseason game.

367 MA members hopefully enjoying their summer (or winter, depending on where they are located on the planet)! LOL!

So far, we're having a very pleasant summer weather-wise up here. I'm glad that our football teams are starting their training camps. It's not quite yet time for football, but I'm hopeful that we'll see some improvements over last season come this fall. A lot of the sports talk here in Chicago right now surrounds the Bulls, and their quest to assemble a team that can have a shot at making the NBA Finals. Now that their road to the Finals has to go through LeBron James and the Cavs in the Eastern Conference. The Cubs beat the dreaded Cards 7-6 yesterday. Hooray!! We play them again later today and tomorrow. It looks like your Dodgers beat up the Giants really good yesterday!

I hope that you have an awesome jam night later tonight Lonny!

365 MA members is outta o' sight!
That's one member playing a sweet Masters drum for everyday of the year! LOL!

I know exactly how you feel about the Cardinals! They have been a "divisional" thorn in the Cubs side for all my life.
I'm doing well, and I'm glad to hear that things are coming together very nicely with your band's lineup.
Like you said, you can then concentrate all your efforts on the music itself.

    364 MA members is phenomenal!

We haven't started the actual remodeling itself, but plenty to do before we begin. Glad to read that everyone is doing well. I am too. It's very cool that Skeld (Paul) bought the Sheer Blue MLX kit that he saw at Music Go Round. You're right, he can decide if he feels like playing a birch kit or a maple kit on any given day. Maybe someday down the line I wouldn't mind owning both a birch kit and a mahogany kit to go along with my MRX. Even if I never bought another kit again I know that I'm really set with my MRX, but it would be neat to have all 3 "flavors" to choose from.
