323 MA members rockin' into the night!

So, the magic number is down to 2! Go Dodgers!
I know that they have 2 more games with Arizona, including tonight's game.
The Cubs are currently losing to the Brewers 6-0 in the bottom of the 5th. D'oh! LOL!

    322 MA members!

Well, both of our football teams came away with a win today.
The Bears almost blew a division game at home against the Vikings, but Cutler's last minute TD saved the day! Bears win 31-30!
I saw some in-game stats that showed that Pryor had a good game against the Jaguars. Oakland wins 19-9!

As for our baseball teams....I guess that both yesterday and today just weren't their days. LOL!

321 MA members lovin' the way they sound!

The Dodgers-Giants game is currently 0-0 in the bottom of the 5th as I type this. Go Dodgers!!!
The Cubs beat the Pirates 5-4 earlier today, which inadvertently helped the Cardinals in their fight for first place with Pittsburgh.

When Pryor faced the Bears "D" in their preseason game, he put on quite a show. I thought to myself, this guy should be Oakland's starting QB for the regular season.
You have a great weekend too Lonny!

The Gators have a bye week. Good thing. Their QB doesn't do well under the pressure of the red zone. He sprained his knee against Miami last week. Their back up QB transferred. So now the back up is a true freshman. The SEC schedule is tough. They play the Vols next week.

    Quick sports wrap up:
-Bears found a way to hang in there, and overcome a 11 point deficit to beat Cincinnati.
-The Cubs found a way to blow a save in their 3-1 loss to Milwaukee.
-The Raiders had quite a battle going against the Colts in Indy. Sorry it didn't go their way.
-The same could be said for the Dodgers vs. the Reds. I heard a bit of that game on ESPN Radio.

Anyway, time for bed. I'll talk to you tomorrow. Good night Lonny.

320 MA members is truly amazing!

You're right about all the DW's that you see on TV! I considered buying a DW kit when I was shopping for a pro kit.
Lucky for me, a drummer friend of mine steered me away from them. He is a old school jazz drummer who absolutely loves Gretsch drums.
He said to me, "Why do you want to sound like every other drummer out there?", and that "DW drums were over-hyped up due to their extensive marketing.".
I'm glad I listened, because that's when I saw a Masters kit in Midnight Fade for the first time in person. After playing on that Masters kit (BRX I think), I knew right then and there that I was going to go with Pearl. I ordered my MRX (I knew that I wanted a maple kit) in Midnight Fade, and I couldn't have been any happier! Like you've said before, this is the pro kit I've always dreamed of.

319 MA members are rockin' n' rollin' in the last few "offical" weeks of summer!

As a Cubs fan, I've gotta say that most of the Septembers that I can recall haven't been that much fun! LOL!
Us Chicagoians, both North and South Siders, are definitely hanging our proverbial sports hats on the upcoming Bears season.
The Bulls and Blackhawks seasons don't start until the end of October, so the Bears are the main sporting focus till then.

You're right about the Sunday Ticket thing, rebuilding years aren't that fun to watch, let alone having to pay to see.
Pryor was named the starting QB for the Raiders. He didn't do so bad against the Bears, so there might be something there in ol' Oak-town after all.
  8. 319 MA members. Sept. is so much fun when your baseball team is winning. If they don't win the trophy life will get horrible until the Lobo Basketball season starts! LOL! The Raiders are rebuilding and are going to get smacked around a lot. Glad I didn't get the Sunday Ticket this year!

Man, that would be fun Lonny, wouldn't it? Kicking back and eating Dodger Dogs while taking in a few games between our two teams out in L.A..

Glad to hear that the guys want to try to jam every Saturday. I know how much you look forward to it.

When I used to go out to play drums at some local bars' open mic nights, it usually was the blues that they wanted to play. I like the blues every now and then in doses, but I'm not as versed enough in it to get very creative musically. So, it can get kind of boring pinging away the same beat on a ride cymbal song after song. When the guys running the open mic night wanted to play some classic rock, they would break into some deep Allman Brothers or Grateful Dead 20+ minute jams. I know the "greatest hits" from these bands, because they would play them on the local classic rock radio stations, but the super deep cuts, not so much. There was no way these guys would play anything remotely metal/hard rock-wise. LOL!

The Bears starters looked pretty good last night during the first half. I agree that Pryor looked sharp during the second half, and should get a shot at the starting QB position for the Raiders.
All in all, I was pleased with what appeared to be some progress and cohesion from the Bears starters.

The Cubs lost to the the Padres 6-8. We play 'em again later tonight. Wow! 10.5 games ahead for your Dodgers has got to put a big ol' smile on your face.
Your guys are going to "murderlize" us when we come out to play in L.A.!

From the little news clip that I saw last week, it appeared that both Gene and Paul were running the press conference together. So, I assume that both are co-owners under the KISS name, but you know that Gene has never ever met a dollar that he didn't like. LOL!!!

Have a great B-Day party and jam night tonight Lonny!
