    Hello, Mr Okamoto!

First of all, my congratulations on your new position! I have a question for you - what is the difference in a wood quality of 12" tom Pearl Masters Custom and 12" tom from Pearl Reference? Do the company use the same type of maple? What other differences they have?

    Best wishes, Alex.

    Hola Mr Okamoto.
I have posted in "first aid" a question about a lug from a pearl export 1990, if your can help me about the lug part number, or if there is a lug from the new catalog that fits my drum set.

    thanks in advance.

    Hi Mr Okamoto,

I made a post on drummerworld named "Vintage Pearl Drumsets" and ther is a post on pearl drummers forum named "Old Pearl ID help" regarding my Pearl kit. I was refered to you by jkevn, who said you would probably know everything about what I want to find out about.

I would really appreciate some clarity on the year, series name, wood type, approximate quantity produced etc.

    Thank You,
    Duard Louw

    Dear Gene,

Last Thursday I received an MCX snare I purchased from a private seller on Ebay.
First of all, great snare drum! Love it!
The drum looks absolutely fresh out of the box, originally purchased last Christmas.
Is the lifetime warranty now null and void?
I ask because the SR-017 tension-er offers a degree of resistance. Not like it's impossible to adjust but this one certainly requires a tight grip and a little elbow grease to turn.
Ironically, the tension backed off a few times during my gig Saturday night and once early on in my gig yesterday afternoon. It was fine for the rest of the day though. It does appear that nothing on the the bottom has ever been off of the drum since it left the factory.
Thank you for your time (once again).

    Best regards,

    Ron

Hi Gene, Iwas told that you might be able to help me with a problem I have been having. I am DESPERATLY trying to find a March 1998 Pearl Session Series catalog, or at least how I might be able to download one, I bought these beautiful Prestige Session Select drums in the Teal Blue lacquer in 1998 and got the catalog with them, but moving around I have LOST this book and I would appreciate any help you can offer me on this. It has the specs on my drums and I just wanted to keep it on hand in case I need to find parts or anything related to this kit. I have heard GREAT things about you through this forum and you have my upmost respect on your knowlege of what I consider to be the best drums in the world. Period. Thank you for reading this as I know you are a busy man. Also my e-mail is [email protected]

    Gene,
Are LB-15's now being packaged without rubber gaskets? The local Guitar Center (Chattannooga) has two in stock and neither package contain rubber gaskets. I need 3 mounts, hopefully with gaskets, to install on a 13x16 tom tom I just bought NIB on Fleabay.
The three I recently mounted on an 11x14 all came with gaskets.
The 16" completes my fusion sized Gunmetal Sparkle EXR kit as a 7 piece. Wow. Really is the icing on the cake!
If you're ever looking for a quick weekend getaway come on over and I'll arrange for you and your family to be my guest at the Centennial Theater at the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel. (I can't do anything on a room.) Next week our "Rock and Roll Spectacular" becomes the "Little Bit Country, Little Bit Rock and Roll" show. Okay, so it's also a little bit hokum too but it's good family entertainment. Singers, dancers, live band, and even an illusionist. As soon as our "Elvis" gets his working visa back in order he'll be back in the show too.
    Best,
    Ron Gerber

    Mr Okamoto;
do you, by chance, have the mounting specs for the SR-300 triad strainer system

I recently was able to play a symphonic snare and really fell in love with the system.

I would like to explore the possibility of making an adaptor plate to fit the SR-300 to a Free Floater system

any insight, information or advice in this area would be greatly appreciated

    Hello Mr. Okamoto,

I recently bought a 1980's vintage Pearl Free Floating System snare drum with the "bridge" style snare unit since I like extra sensitive snares that cover the entire bottom head surface. I must say I have had a really hard time getting the snares to adjust correctly (sit flat), but finally did. I have the feeling Pearl discontinued this style of snare strainer due to its complexity and expense to produce. Can you offer any tips on setting up this type snare strainer with its bridge adjustments for the next time I need to change the bottom drumhead?

    Thank you kindly,

    Photoguy

Hi there gene. I was told your the man to talk to. I want to add a pearl bb-3 to my virgin pearl session bass drum. I was wondering if you knew how far to place it from the edge of the resonate head. I'm looking for factory measurments. It's a 06 model session custom. Thanks for your time
  10. Happy Birthday Gene.
Am I able to order some MMX toms in Platinum Mist to match my Bass Drum? Will they have the original badges?
