No, I haven't gone ICON yet but it's in the cards. I have found the DR a bit inflexible when trying different set-ups. It was never a problem back in the day because I NEVER changed my set-up. Also using the DR-2 with a single kick set-up has a weird center point and thus a weird appearance. It will be a while before I make the switch though.... since they are not giving those things away yet:P

Hey Buddy, Long time no talk Of course I have a rack question for you. Is it possible to utilize the old rack clamps we use on our DR-1 & 2s on the Icon racks? From my understanding the Icons are 1.5" square and our DR's are 1.5" tall and 2" deep. Is that correct? I hope all is well with you

Have you tried to refurbish your clamps over the years? I recently went through all of mine. Those BT-3 bolts are a fun little specialty bolt to find (M6, 35mm cheese head). I scoured the greater Phoenix metro area before I tracked them down. I am still searching for the gasket material between the BT-3 and the rack clamp. I know I can't recreate the molded (curved) portion but if I can create an additional flat gasket to fit underneath to protect from the BT-3 from metal to metal contact with the clamp I would be golden I was just curious how you have maintained your gear over the years? You've got a great looking kit BTW!! The tom arm for you 8" looks really long, is it modified, or did pearl offer one that long? I had to go with the counter-weighted boom tom arm for my 10". I am in the process of loading some pics of my "mullet" kit back in the day
