Building my new VSX kit !

Hi everyone,

Today after 6 months waiting a finally picked up (a part of) my & my son's new drumkit !

It's a Pearl Vision VSX in strata red, very very beautiful color with black hardware. The finish is really good and very hard to capter on photograph, in sunlight truely magnificent !!
Now i've have to wait another month for my second bassdrum and my 8" tom.

If we have those drums too the spec's will be :

22 X 18 (2x) Bassdrums
8 X 7 tom
10 X 8 tom
12 X 9 tom
14 X 14 floortom
16 X 16 floortom
14 X 5,5 snare

I have chosen for a drumrack (dr80) for the looks and because the black rack fits very well with the black hardware


Now and then i'll be posting new pic's because there's way more to come !!
cymbals, drumheads, hardware, ....
But one step at a time ....

So enough talkin, here are the pics so far !

The young man has a great kit he can be proud to own for many years!
I am in the process of waiting for my VX floor tom to arrive from Pearl sometime next week to finish off my 4 pc!

Before there was the ICON rack, I use to dream of having the Dr-80. Good to see there are still being produced (and enjoyed).

Great choice on the finish. Glad to see how the DR80 looks with strata red as I'm hoping to get one in the future.

@ bobymaker : the sound is really good, the protone heads aren't that bad at all only on the bassdrum i have removed it and put on an Evans emad head. In time all the heads (batter + resonant) will be replaced by Evans heads.

@ pearlygates : yeah he's very proud of it, i'll have to send him of to bed late in the evening otherwise he'll be playing it at night too !

@ DanielOrtegaM : when i was setting it up i constantly had to wipe off all the drool on my mouth & floor !

Also..mad props on your jam space. Is it a sun room of some sort? Looks like there might be some sky light action, it looks like it's out doors but I see a flat screen too.

No my porch is our jam space
Not that long though because the roof is glass so it used to get very hot in there like 40 - 45°C but now there's airco so that problem is solved

Delayed .... Again !!

Got a phonecall from my local drumstore that our second bassdrum is delayed with one month again and my 8" tom is delayed to november .....

I've really want to start cryin when he told me that

I'll be very happy if i got it all by Christmas ....
