Suspended tom to floor tom?

Is it possible to convert a suspended 'floor' tom into a real floor tom? I don't like having it attached to my cymbal stand.

Yeah I'll get a hold of AL. A 900 straight stand isn't the sturdiest thing to mount a (big) tom on...

Well I just found out doing so would void the warranty... I don't think I'm going to now.

If you change it from a mounted tom to a floor tom it will be more resonant and have better sustain.
In the first aid section there are a few posts (have a bit of a scroll) to give drilling dimensions for either 14" or 16" toms.
Warranty pfffft lol, do it!

easiest way would probabaly be getting one of those gauger floor tom mount deals. they suspend the tom from the bottom hoop and have legs. No drilling required. I dont think they are very cheep though.

thats how i would do it. that way you can go back to hanging if ya decide too, without having floor tom mounts drilled in the shell

Look at the World Max brand for $60.00-70.00 comes with legs.
the only thing I don't like about them is the stock wing screws I got some chrome nylon locking nuts for mine

Another forum user, can't rember who, bought on of the short pearl snare stands and use that to hold his floor tom. I think he had a short stack floor though.
