  • New Vision VX

Hello everyone, this is my first post here, and ive got some pics (bad ones) of my new kit. Ive been playing for 14 years, 13 of which were on a export kit. Well thought i would upgrade.

    Drums
    22" x 18" bass drum
    10" x 8" rack tom
    12" x 9" rack tom
    13" x 10" rack tom
    14" x 14" floor tom
    16" x 16" floor tom
    5-1/2" x 14" SensiTone snare drum

    Hardware
    Dr-80 Rack
    PC-8 clamp X 8
    CH- 70 holder X 3
    CH- 80 Holder X 5
    Pearl 900 hardware kit
    Pearl Powershifter Eliminator Double pedal.
    Ahead 7A sticks

    Cymbals
    18" Sabian XS china
    17" Sabian AAX Dark crash
    14" Sabian XS hats
    8" Stagg splash
    10" Stagg splash
    12" Wuhan China
    14" Sabian AAX Dark Crash
    16" Sabian AAX Dark Crash
    16" Wuhan China
    22" Sabian XS rock ride

I thought very long and hard on what sort of finish i wanted on these drums. I decide that due to my heavy handed nature, and gigging, and wrap finish should hold up the best, just like my export. Im still playing around alittle bit with the right cybals. Something just doesnt feel right when trying to work with them.

Anyways, just want to share my new kit, sorry for the crap pics.

Nothing against VX's, they're great drums, but I would've thought you might have upgraded to something a bit more high end from Exports, the VX being EX's direct successor.
But then again, I'm drumming on VSX's, that are technically VX's with a fancy looking wrap, and no other drummers, professionals alike, have had a single bad thing to say about their sound or playability.

I thought about this for about 3 months, but with how rough i am on drums, gigging, and just overall playing the crap out of them. I think the wrap will be a good barrier from what ever may hit the kit. Plus my export kit lasted 13 years so i cant knock the wrapped finish, lol.

I also really like the sound of them. Think of guy jumping off a 4 story building, then micing the sound of their body hitting the ground. Thats what im going for, lol. I know not funny, but it best describes the sound im looking for.
