  • Pearl MLX bass drum search

    Good day/night/evening everyone!

I have been on the hunt for some time for an MLX 16x22 kick drum in SHEER BLUE.

at this point, i would take either MLX or BLX, just need a second bass drum to complete the kit. Not looking necessarily for one in pristine condition as my other has some battle scars.

If anyone has a lead on where I might could get one, or if anyone has one they would be willing to part with, please let me know! Thanks!

Hi there and welcome to the PDF, and the vintage section in particular

Some things you need to end up being really patient to get.
It took me nearly 10 years to find an 8" tom for my DX series kit without having to re wrap.
Sheer blue isn't a wrap, and isn't all that common.

You just have to keep scouring CL (try typing in "Search Craiglist all") E-bay, Reverb, all the usual suspects when it comes to auction and buy/sell sites, and facebook seems to have emerged as a go to selling platform over the last few years.

Here's hoping you get a quick result, and all the best with that...

edit: There's a bunch of really, and I mean really, good painters in this world of ours.
Have you got a mate, or do you know someone who's a great auto painter?
The outside the box solution is to get an MLX bass in any colour, strip it, and have it repainted, matching sheer blue as near as possible...

I thought about having one painted to match, and I do keep that option in the back of my mind.

I had purchased one back in July and it has apparently been lost in transit. So there is one floating around out there...sadly. I also have another lead though the seller seems unwilling to ship to the states, which is totally understandable.

Thanks for the warm welcome, and the reply!!
