Oh ok, so if I am looking for a specific Pearl drum I can just put “WTB: Pearl bla bla” in my signature section? And if a member sees my signature and has the drum for sale will contact me?

And is it against forum rules to post a WTB thread and share pictures in each specific sub-forum?

Correct, in writing put what you are looking to buy or sell in your signature.

It is definitely against forum rules to post a WTB thread.
      I hope that this helps.

Just curious, are the 80’s/early 90’s badge dimensions and holes on drum compatible with mid to late 90’s gold rectangular badge? Are they interchangeable?

I don’t know/not quite sure, but please please please do not ever do this!
It’s already difficult enough trying to identify when some drums are made sometimes, and it can be a badge that seals it
Throw on a badge from another era, and problems begin...

I am actually very picky about originality of a kit, I am against any kind of mods, even if it improves the look or functionality of the drum, only if the drum is collectable. I just like the badge from one era before the late 90’s (I like the badge in your profile picture) but if they were interchangeable I could have switched the badge and if I wanted to sell the kit I would just switch back to the originals. I wouldn’t mod the drum to fit a different badge on it.

By the way, how do the late 90’s masters custom ( gold rectangular badge) drums compare to late 80’s or early 90’s MLX drums with long lugs? Better? Lighter/heavier? I think the masters custom has thinner maple shells, right?

Nearly every series has changes to shell composition over time.
Masters Custom is no exception, here's a thread about that:
                https://www.pearldrummersforum.com/s...ne-spelled-out

Less plies doesn't mean less thick, so look at shell thickness as well as ply count.

                Better? Don't know
                Lighter/heavier? Not sure

It only just recently occurred to me that up to the mid 90's is now vintage lol.

My avatar badge shot is from my kit, a 1984 DX series kit...

I have a very nice 4pc shellpack that I've put up for sale a few times in the last couple of years.
                  1969 Pearl Valencia
20x14bd 12 and 14 toms and a matching wrap 14x5.5 snare. There's not much interest where I live in B.C. Canada but I've gotten lots of interest in the USA and even some in Germany and Australia. But... it's always been the shipping that kills the deal. I'm happy with keeping the drums for now as I do enjoy playing them. 50 year old drums.... made in Japan ... that sound good and look amazing.

This is what my drums looked like when advertised in the Pearl catalog in 1969.
My drums have the same finish.

^ Depends. Mostly on where you live.

Different world markets command different worth.

How did you determine it's a 72 kit?

Is it full fibreglass or wood/fibreglass?
