Identifying 80s Kit

Hi All,

Thanks for the admission into the forum!

I’ve picked up a new/old kit and was wondering if I could get some help identifying the model?
The sizes are 24x14, 14x10 and 18x16. The shells are maple (according to the badge) and that’s about all I know.

Keen to get as much detail as I can.

Hi and welcome to the forum

A closeup of the badge would be great, but your kit has badges from 1980 to 1983.
There may, or may not be, factory inspection stickers on the insides of the shell
If you measure the thickness of the shell, and the ply count, someone will tell you exactly what you have.

Looks to be perhaps 6 ply and 8-9mm shells.

They look like 6 ply 7.5mm shells. That, and the 80-83 badge possible's might be crossover GX or MX series from 83...

I'd assumed guessed because I count 8 plies. Look closely starting from left side at plies. It goes blonde, brown, light brown, brown .. and then plies get bigger at blonde, brown, light brown, blonde ... that's 8 plies which would make it an ET series 8 ply - 6mm maple shells in blue flash wrap

if it has super hoops on toms then it's an 83 M series .. if not then it's an 80-82 ET series

Wow. Thanks for the information. I’ll take a closer look at it. I did measure, but I must admit it wasn’t spot on.
Some hoops have been changed. The 14 has a snare side hoop for example.

I mic’ed it up and did a short recording. Sounds pretty sweet. Warm with a bit boom.

I’m hoping they’re a reasonable decent set.

Hi all. I hope you are keeping safe and well.

Back with another question regarding the kit above. I was able to pick up a matching 13” Tom, but I’m keen to find a 16” floor Tom to complete my project. At this stage I feel it’s unlikely I’ll find one so I’m wondering what might be a good match in an alternate, more recent series.

Maybe an MLX if you can’t find one the same. Swap out the long lugs for coffin lugs...

Will probably substitute in something from another line until I find the right drum. ����

they show up on ebay, craigslist, reverb, guitarcenter , etc etc all the time .. I'll keep an eye out for you
