  • Last of the World Series Kits :)

I had one of these kits in 1991 but "Lost" it somewhere & never found it again Just picked this one up tonight & it is one of the last incarnations in Natural Matt Lacquer. All is in pretty good shape. 22x16, 12x10, 13x11, 14x12, 16x16. All for the bargain price of £160 Going to strip it down, give the chrome a good polish & replace the heads which I already have.
Sorry for the crap picture though, Will take some better one's tomorrow

Congratulations Kevin on your acquisition! I did the same with all the MHX shells even though it’s tedious but well worth doing.

Indeed a labourious task but quite therapeutic I find Just about to get on with it

Hmmmmmmmm, Decisions............ Do I strip back the shells to their original colour or just leave "as is"? Bearing in mind that this is to be a kit used for when we have to share I am kind of thinking of the latter & to not go too far with it.

Bass drum & Floor Tom done. Found a good set of G2 Coated heads so they will go on with a good set of used Resonator's. Have decided to leave the "Patina" as if I went too far with it then it would defeat the reason I bought it for.
Has a few "Battle scars" but it is about 28 years old & has been used.

            Oof, battle scars indeed!

I like the colour it has darkened to. Gives it a bit more character.

Yes, this was part of my reasoning to leave them as is. do look very nice. I will try to address the scars somehow.

nice score .. and wow you can really tell how the finish has aged with pic of stripped bass drum shell. That has darkened to an amber color.

Gone too far with them. Spent two days stripping, cleaning & putting new heads on. Now they are too good to use as a kit share slag. Will sell them on & then buy something I am not going to care about.
