I need to buy some new tension rods for my 70's Pearl kit. It has coffin lugs. Do modern Pearl tension rods fit these lugs? Thanks!

    i believe they do...
but you might want to ask the guys that still sell coffin lugs ...and that would be drum factory direct

    https://www.drumfactorydirect.com/in...ducts_id=11953

    https://www.drumfactorydirect.com/in...ducts_id=11952

    https://www.drumfactorydirect.com/in...ducts_id=11951

now these dont come with lug screws , but if you call or message about these ...they should have your answers about lugs crew sizes .. also they sell said lug screws, as well

also , i figured more than likely you might need a coffin lug or two ..... knowing were to get these lugs opens the possibility for adding new drum s session masters, visions and older exports are now add on possibilities

A warning - the lugs DFD sells are chinese made lugs that don't match original Pearl coffin lugs. bought snare lugs from DFD and they didn't match, they're of a lesser quality. Best option is to buy an orphan drum online or ebay the lugs.

Standard tension rods will fit older coffin style lugs. I replaced all of mine with Gibraltar (I think) rods when I refinished my 1983 MX kit a year or so ago. Whatever brand they were, I just ordered them from Drum Factory Direct. Just order the length that you need.
