          whats that button for on the side of the snare?.. and why do you use Pintripes as Reso's on your toms..?.. how do they sound?

            I believe that's the Hypervent. It allows to to control whether you want the snare to be vented or not.

              That was an old picture...i have coated emperors over clear ambassadors on the toms now. I used to love that dead cardboard box sound for some reason... glad I switched!

                        thanks for all the comments! Ronn does amazing work, and I feel more than lucky to be able to own one of his snares. The only thing better than the look of this snare is the sound, and I hope to get you guys some sound clips soon, but it's been a busy few weeks and probably wont happen for a few more.

                            Yes I do. It's a high gloss finish, the reason it looks so cool is because it's quilted maple, and its called quilted because it looks like fabric (sort of). It's just the natural characteristics of the grain.
