  • Which snare

Hey guys. I'm trying to decide which snare to get between these two. The Steve Ferrone sig or the 14x6.5 Brass Sensitone. Is there much difference in sound between the two? The music i play is mostly hard rock/heavy metal. Thanks for the help.

go and try out both in person, then go for which sounds best to you, that is the ONLY way to get the right one.

LOL! again, i disagree. The sound in the shop wont be the same as at home man!
Anyway, getting the ferrone will bring you more style, but does it matter to you?

I'd go with the Brass sig unless you really think the Ferrone is going to be a hundred and twenty Euro's better...

as i said, i think the look of the ferrone is really better!
anyway, the differences are gonna be very small in the sound. the ferrone may have a little bit more sustain, but not much.

If you can afford it... go with the Ferrone...

But honestly, I dont think the difference is worth the increase in price, unless it doesnt matter and you can afford it...

The Black coating on the Ferrone, warms up the tone just a bit, but other than that there is no significant difference in sound and features... to my knowledge at least...

If you can afford it, go Ferrone... if its not quite worth it to you, get the Sensitone... either way youll have a kickarse new snare...
