that snare is amazing.... the crack you get out of it is beyond belief. It's a combination of birch and maple plies and has a extra deep snare bed for good sensitivity. It's really versitile and when you lay into it, it really sounds good. i think it's goin for like $300 or so....

$314.50 @ Massmusic.net - I've owned this snare for a few months and it's finally trumped my Ultracast 6.5 as my primary snare.

the snare is horrible.you should buy it, then sell it to me for 1 dollar.

I love this snare and it is one of the nicest pearl sig snares i played..i highly recommend it..or the EC snare..theyre both ownable!
I play with strings and sticks.

Right now I'm experimenting with an ST Dry batter, Ambassador reso with the batter tighter than the reso. Thanks to the rounded bearing edge, there still a nice open ring even with the ST Dry - gotta love that.

Next up is a PCRD followed by an Emperor.

i'd say the st. dry would give it a good depth and sound but if i were you, i'd stay with the ambassador snare side and the coated ambassador batter

The Donati is way too open for my tastes with the stock Ambassadors. I think the Emperor batter might just be the perfect combo.
