Are Reference brass snare drums now cast? When did they change their process? They used to say they were rolled brass but this is the first time I saw they are cast (Reference Metal Snares).

As far as I know the steel Reference snares we’re always cast and the brass was a rolled and welded shell. I used to see tons of ebay ads for brass Reference snares claiming they were cast as well as ads from major retailers claiming the same thing. At one point that claim made it into Pearl’s own Twitter feed on here. It made for a lot of confusion. Pearl should add a bell brass (cast bronze) shell to their Reference lineup.
