  • I made a trade...

Recently traded a cherry mahogany snare drum for this 6.5x14 polished copper snare drum. This drum weighs an astonishing 24lbs and is a beast to lug around. I'm really digging the sound and am pleased with the trade. Now if I could just find a smooth bronze snare drum I'd be satisfied....maybe lol.

I tend to like the metal snare drums a bit more than wood. I've also been eyeballing these snare drums for years and could never make myself spend the $800+ to get one. Now if I could only find one of the smooth bronze snares. They used to be a dime a dozen, but have seem to become extinct. I'm not a fan of the knurled shells and certainly don't want to drop $4000 on the True Cast bronze snare.
