  • Pearl freefloater: Original tension rods?

Since im a nerd coming to original parts i wonder if someone know exactly wich tensionrods theese are equipped with... I think it should be about 42 mm long, and in stainless steel? I havet tried with a magnet, and mine seem to be in reglar steel. However i know that some Kinds of stainless material still attracts to magnet... Anybody who knows more? Best regards

I didn't know stainless steel (generally) wasn't magnetic. Can't say I've ever thought to put a magnet to it. The only thing I think I've put a magnet to is one of my snares as I always thought it was steel until someone here told me it was chrome-over-brass, which it is.

Anyway, I took a tension rod from my 2nd gen (1991/92) F.F.S. and measured it - it's 45mm total length, including the head), and isn't stainless steel - standard chrome plated. Picture shows it side by side with a tension rod from my Custom Classic from around the same era.

Thanks for answer! Ok, total length 45 mm... Normal when meausering bolts and screws, you meauser underneath the head, so i guess yours are about 36 mm. That would probably be enough, since mine seem to be a little bit to long.. Not actually a problem on gen2 with round lugs.. Much space to take up extension... Thanks again!
