Early on in my collecting, I built a snare rack out of PVC pipe. I was going to make it two levels high, enough to hold about a dozen snares. I decided to "go big" and add another level so it would hold 15-20 snares. Obviously I surpassed that long ago and most of my drums currently sit in bags, cases, or boxes. Someday I hope to have the perfect space to be able to display at least a nice selection of them, but that time is not now, unfortunately.

I’m sure I’ve commented over the years, but let me say again that your collection is very impressive. There are so many beautiful drums.

It sounds like to me you're about to open up a music store.

This drum has been in Pearl's snare drum line since at least 1993 (if anyone has any more specific info, please let me know). In 1998 the lugs changed from RL05 to CL05 and the throw-off changed from SR016 to SR018. My drum has the more recent set up with CL05 lugs and SR018 throw off. This drum typically came in liquid amber finish but was special ordered in Vintage Sunburst. The shell is 6-ply maple (7.5mm).
