This drum is from 2009 during the year of Ludwig's 100th anniversary. It is a 7-Ply (6mm) Classic Maple shell. It has brass hardware including die-cast hoops, tube lugs, and the P86 Millennium throw-off.
I'm not a fan of gold hardware, but it looks really nice with that deep red shell

I am a big fan of gold hardware. The first set that I remember seeing with gold hardware that I really loved was a guy on this forum that had a Masters set in Wine Red. Pretty sure he had gold stands and everything. I think it's a great combination with the dark red, but then again, I really like it will a lot of different finishes.

If all the hardware was gold (like Sucherman's custom Pearl kits), that would be better. I just don't care for the gold hardware in contrast to all the chrome hardware that usually has to go with it.

It definitely looks nice with certain colors of snare drums shells (like the wine red).

That's a great one. Pearl doesn't do the 14x4 size anymore. Collector's item.

This was the July 2016 Snare Club drum. It is basically a Decade Maple snare with Strata Black wrap and a limited edition badge. Like a Decade Maple snare, it has NDL55 lugs, SR700 throw-off, and a 6-ply maple (5.4mm) shell.

This drum was released as a limited edition run in the holiday season of 2015 with only 70 drums being distributed in the US. Other than the red finish, it is identical to the black nickel version. It has a Steel shell with Superhoops, SR015 throw-off, and CL55 lugs.

This drum was introduced in 2014 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Free-Floating System snare drum. 2014 was also the year that began the 4th generation of free-floaters. The shell is 3mm Brass with a Patina finish. It was the first drum with Pearl's Spin-Tight tension rods. It also has the SR1000F Glide-Lock throw-off and Mastercast hoops. It came with an embossed Reunion Blues leather carrying bag as well as an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity that is signed by Pearl President, Masakatsu Yanagisawa. The CoA says that 300 drums were produced worldwide and 100 released in the US.

That's another beauty. Wouldn't mind having one of those in my collection.

I have one of the anniversary free floaters and find it to be a bit of a one trick pony. Great for heavy playing but that thick shell isn’t especially lively. Powerful — not a drum you’d bring to a jazz gig. Overtones are well-controlled for a brass drum.

                            Good points.

I have a set of custom 3mm bell bronze Free Floating snare drums (in various sizes) and I would say the same things. Very powerful with controlled overtones.

Those are good descriptions. It's also so darn heavy that my weakling arms rarely want to lift it out of the box and on to the snare stand.
