Pearl DC1450S/N 14x5 Dennis Chambers Signature Snare Drum



This drum was released in 2016 and replaced the original Dennis Chambers snare drum in the signature line. This drum has a 3mm Cast Aluminum shell with nickel hardware including Superhoops, offset STL100 lugs (12 on top, 8 on bottom), and an SR020 multi-trace throw-off.

This drum was released as the December 2016 snare club drum. It basically follows Decade Maple specs with a 6-ply (5.4mm) maple shell, RH1408 hoops, NDL55 lugs, and SR700 throw-off.

This drum was available from 2011-2013. It has a brass shell with black nickel plating and laser-etched engraving. It is based on the Black Magic series. It has all black nickel hardware including diecast hoops, tube lugs, and PS9XB throw-off. It also includes a hand-signed sticker inside the drum.

This drum was the September 2008 snare club release. It has a mixed shell with a carbon fiber inner ply with mahogany outer plies. It has Superhoops, CL55 lugs, and SR017 throw-off.

It's carbon fiber on the inner AND outer ply (not just an inlay), with Pearl's standard 6-ply, 7.5mm African Mahogany shell. Mine has TB-50 lugs, Fat Tone hoops, and SR-017 strainer. Pearl didn't account for the added shell thickness when they added the extra carbon fiber outer ply, so I had to nix the tube lug gaskets to get everything to line up nicely.

This drum was the September 2008 snare club release. It has a mixed shell with a carbon fiber inner and outer plies with 6-Ply (7.5mm) mahogany sanwiched in the middle. It has Superhoops, CL55 lugs, and SR017 throw-off.

Looks like a H-1000 with the legs removed, but the clamp that holds the legs at the top was not removed... boooo! (lol)

You could remove that clamp, and replace it with a memory lock... to keep everything in place, are reduce the "hacked" appearance.

Everything like that seems cyclical. Right now matte finshes and wraps are the trend. Give it another decade and everything will be back to high gloss fades and bursts or maybe even something new. I like all of it in different ways.

It's interesting how the trend has gone to Matte Natural since then. Heavy shell on this one too.
