Nice! This is not how I would have customized this drum if I had ordered it new, but I got a smokin' deal. Yours sounds much more interesting to me.
    I have lots of drums...

Wow. Someone likes a Pearl. I would figure with a collection that extensive there would be a lot of different brands.

As I mentioned on page one, my collection is pretty focused on Pearl and some Ludwig. Kind of like someone who collects Van Gogh paintings wouldn't necessarily have Monets. I certainly appreciate other drums and may venture into other brands at some point, but for now, I'm happy collecting with this focus.

            I can relate ...

I have about 30 snare drums (and all of them are Pearl) including a number of custom snare drums that have all Pearl hardware and specifications

While the last 402 I posted recognized the 50th anniversary of the Supraphonic, this drum was made in 1984 with a badge to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Ludwig as a company. The specs are the same--a seamless aluminum smooth shell with Imperial Lugs and P-85 throw-off. This drum also has the addition of a P40662 internal tone control.

Odd position for the "keystone" airvent on this one.

From what I understand, the position of the air hole was a relic from the blue/olive badge era.

This was released as the January 2012 Snare Club drum. There were several similar drums released from 2010-2012 with different Artisan II coverings.

This drum is a 2-Ply Maple, 4-Ply Poplar (7.5mm total) shell. It has CL-65 lugs, SR-017 throw-off, and RIM1408 hoops.

Thanks. I'm not a Ludwig guy, so I appreciate the info.

This snare drum was released in 2002 and is currently one of only 4 signature snare drums still in the line. It has a steel shell with Superhoops, an SR017 throw-off, and TB65 tube lugs. The interesting things on this drum are the TL20 lock nuts as well as the internal muffler. I don't know of any other modern era Pearl drum set snares that come with either of these components.

Great collection and pictures. The drums are in amazing condition - I can't see a single fingerprint on your snares (a trait I can relate to).

The Reference Pure series was released in 2011 along with the Black Cherry finish. I got this drum used in 2012, but I believe it had to have been among the first of it's kind due to the Fat Tone hoop stickers. By around the middle of 2011, Fat Tone hoops had the current engraving.

The specs in addition to the Fat Tone hoops are STL55L Tube Lugs, SR1000 Glide Lock throw off. The shell has 2 inner plies of birch and 4 outer plies of maple for a total of 5.4mm.
