  • Ludwig bronze 14x6.5 (converted SP)

I came across a 6.5 bronze Ludwig which is alongside a BB quite possibly my dream snare. These are rare to find on the second hand market, and I'm not paying more that €1000 for a new one.

However, it has been converted from a Supersensitive with a P85 throw-off to a Supraphonic. Is there any shell differences between the two? What about snare beds?

What would be a fair price for such a snare?
It's not a B/O badge but one the more recent keystone models.

The shell and snare beds are the same except for the extra holes from the Supersensitive throw off. The fact that someone converted the drum will devalue it some. As far as what it's worth, it's worth what someone is willing to pay. Sometimes you can get a great deal if you're patient, sometimes people ask rediculous prices. There's one on ebay right now for over $1400. It's an 80's or early 90's model with the big keystone badge. I think the guy is on crack if he thinks its worth that much. I have that same drum with the blue/olive badge from the late 70's early 80's. I got it for less than $500 and it's nicer than the one that the guy wants $1400 for. They're great snares by the way. Super fat tone in the low to mid tuning range. Here's a pic of mine.

"There’s a strong correlation between this band’s name and the type of people who listen to their MC Escher butt rock. Hopefully it will be 10,000 more days before they release another album."

They're pretty rare to find over here. Even the new hammered ones go well over €1000.
I think I can get it for €400 shipped.

Does your have two vents? Or is it a SS feature?

Mine just has one vent where the badge is. It's a Supraphonic, not a Supersensitive.

OK, but the main question is wether it is worth €400.
