SNARE CHOICE ? help me to choose.

YOu probably couldn't go wrong with either one, but that stave will probably sound very different that the Yamaha snare. It's a different size and different type of construction. I've never heard of Cazz drums, but it may be a great drum. I like deep snares so I would probably get them both, but it'd be best to test them both and let your ears decide.

Between those two, I'd get the Cazz snare and I wouldn't even have to think very hard about it. The main reason for me is that I don't particularly like deep snares - even 6.5" for me is pushing it. the 5.5" depth is a great depth for just about anything - tune loose, and you've got a phat snare. Tune high and you're playing rifle shots. I just don't feel like you'd have the same versatility with the 7" depth.

What about the Yamaha Maple Custom VS the Pearl Free Floating Maple/ Mahogany :

I would go with the Yamaha... just my opinion.

I would buy the Yamaha snare. I think it looks nicer, has better hardware and would be easier to sell if you ever get bored with it.

I would go for the cazz just the fact it's not a standard stock snare. Looks nice and different. I've never heard of cazz Sent from my iPhone using Pearl Drums

That Cazz looks nice! Personally I don't think you can go wrong with a Yamaha Maple Custom though

Hi amigos,

I'm hesitating inbetween a Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute 14x7 made in Japan and a Cazz handmade in Germany 14x5.5 Maple stave.
The Maple Custom is a standard so won't remind the spec...
The Cazz is made from selected Maple, Stave shell 13mm with single nodal point lugs and 2,3mm hoops and Nickel works strainer.

I can get both for about $390, which one would you go for ? :
