It's so hard to choose which one is the best! All of my snares sound amazing and spend ample time on the snare stand.

          Nice collection.
Check out my incomplete snare drum collection thread. I like it and think it is quite charming. :)

Oddly enough, I used to have a Collectors kit but it wasn't really the sound that I heard in my head as my sound. It was a SSC kit and it sounded amazing but my Pearl kit still had "my sound" so I sold it for what I bought it for. Don't get me wrong it was a great sounding kit but I felt the sound was pretty similar to the Prestige Session Select which already gave me my sound. The kits that I have now more represent my sound. I may get a DW kit again in the future but it would be the Eco-X kit, the Performance or Design series kit, the maple/mahogany kit, or the Jazz series kit. I'm totally sold on DW snares though! I've had about 6-7 others one as well but the ones I have now capture my ear and my sound.

I'm so pleased with the sound of the Yamaha 8000 Series kit I just added though! I'd put the kits I have now up against anything!

I think I'm currently in the same boat. I love my Collector's Series 5x13 Cast Aluminum snare, but I haven't played a DW kit that I felt like I had to have. I don't know if it's the edges, or the shell construction, or what... but I'm looking for a different sound. Of course, I think Peart's sound is phenomenal, but I don't know how they achieve it.

                    Awesome collection!

                      Thanks!
I have heard many great sounding DW kits, including the one I had, but there was just something about the sets that I have now that just captured my sound.
