            If I had to choose 1 snare drum for the rest of eternity, it would be the 14x5 Ludwig Black Beauty. I choose the 14x5 over the 14x6.5 BB because the 5" version has such a broad tuning range. It sounds great tuned high or low. The 6.5" version tends to sound a bit to "choked" at higher tuning ranges. The 5" one just sings at higher ranges and has such a fantastic crack and tone.

              Great input from You Here.
              Yes i also loved my LM 400.
              but i can say that the 6x 14 MCA offers a wider tuningrange. I also love how crisp and present the
              Sidesticking on this snare is. Must be the Reso coming from the aluminum hoops.
