PEARL Sensitone Elite Aluminum...anyone else love the sound ?

Just got a SENSITONE Elite Aluminum, and absolutely love the tone of these !!

Just the perfect dryness and shorter sustain but with a nice little mid range pop.

Anyone else own and love the sound of these snares ? I think PEARL hit it out of the park on these...at least to my ears !

Totally agreed. I love the sound of these. I have several Ludwig Supra/Acrolite variants and the Pearl shell has the same character but with more modern heavier hardware and I love the finish - it never shows fingerprints! I just purchased a 6.5x14 version of the older model drum (not the brand new one with the weird lugs) about 3 months ago and I had to scour eBay and used sites for over 6 months to find one - finally found one at a Guitar Center in CT for $240, and it came with Mastercast hoops! I actually took these off the drum and put a PDP wood hoop on top and a triple-flange on the bottom. I find the wood hoop really goes with the character of the shell. I use this drum with my blues band and it kills.

What did you do with the mastercast hoops?

I love mine. Got it used from my local GC in immaculate condition. Love the feel, sound and sensitivity. As a plus I also found this one with Pearl's Gold Anodized finish.

I have one with tube lugs and cast hoops. Looks great. Sounds amazing to me. Awesome drum in my opinion.

Good drums, I much prefer the Ultracast but this Sensitone is one of the best from Pearl as well.
