Wouldn't mind having a few of those! How was that OCDP maple/steel? I keep seeing it in Guitar Center ads, but never see it in stores and there isn't much info online.

What snare/s do you have now if you let those beauties go?

I am unfamiliar with this little shopclass concoction -- can you tell us what it is?

I actually liked that snare a lot. It had good body and tone. I let it go when I got the DW Edge. Then I let the Edge go because it was always too loud, and I rarely used it.

I have a Gretsch Retro Mahogany 7x13 (Practically the same snare. 8 ply mahogany) on layaway now. It is an inexpensive snare, but I loved the way it sounded and always regretted letting it go. I let it go because at the time, it was the "cheapest" out of my 7x13 snares, but in hindsight it was the 7x13 I liked and used the most. That is the reason I'm adding it back to the stall. A lot of people scoff at that drum, especially considering what I have now and what I used to have, but that drum is definitely a sleeper, and a worthy drum for any snare collection.

Pearl Marc Quinones Signature snare. It was made to be a side snare and then you could turn the snares off and get that timbale sound. It sounded great. I have a friend that is a latin drummer and he begged and begged for it, so I eventually gave in and let him buy it off of my, since I rarely used it.

Thanks for the info. Coincidentally I was at Rupp's today and they had one used:

Interesting little snare. Not for me, but I can imagine the uses for it.

It was a CB700 free floater. They made the original free floating system and then Pearl got the Patent from them. That was just an early shell provided by Gibraltar for the system.

I didn't know that. That's cool. I was wondering about that too.
