Looks like a 14x5.5 SC performer. According to the badge it's a late 90s or early 2000s model. A good all-around birch snare, had one for years. Puresound snare wires add to the value a bit.

yes. The badge and finish make it look like a performer which a lot of people refer to as a good birch snare. IMO a steal for 100

Starclassic Performer EFX in Sterling Sparkle (STS) wrap. Thin birch shell. Approximately 2002. Definitely worth $100, provided it is in good shape.

just got the snare, its thicker than my 2010 superstar birch snare.
its in great condition the guy threw in a snare stand as well.
im in the process of giving it a good cleaning and noticed the inside doesnt have a "from the birch ive seen" normal birch wood grain. it definitely smells like birch though heres a pic so you can see what im talking about. it kinda looks european, (nvr seen japanese birch so maybe this is what it looks like?)

looks gorgeous! Nice job getting the stand as well. How is the sound? I've heard great things about these snares.

The Performer birch shell should be 6mm/6ply. The maple shells were thinner 5mm/6ply with or without focus rings.
When I mentioned 'thin' birch shell, my comparison is to the earlier Granstar birch shells which were 9mm/7ply.

                      That's a steal.

It really works well with the batter head tuned low, and snare side skin tuned pretty tight. I loved it in the studio. Recorded better than some more expensive snares. Too bad I sold it together with the kit.

That inner birch ply is nice enough to finish....

That looks a little thicker, maybe a 2004 2005. What kind of snare throw off does it have.

Here's mine from 2002, You can see the badge is different so I think yours is newer.

mine has a similar throw but not exactly that one. (i shall post a pic on wednesday)
the butt plate is definitely different.

if i knew that the outer ply looks as good as the inner ply. i would unwrap this baby and gloss it up.
but since i dont want to assume. and the wrap is in good shape.
i shall leave it as is.

I stand corrected. The later Starclassic Performer snares were 8ply/8mm birch. It definitely looks like Sterling Sparkle wrap. That would date it 03-05. I'm not sure about the badge?
