  • Ridiculous Ebay Score - Yamaha Manu Katche Signature!

Well, well, well... the terrifying trio of Yammies expands to a foursome! I just scored a mint condition 14x6.5 Manu Katche signature snare for - get this - $266 shipped! This drum typically costs $500-$600 new, so I'm a pretty happy camper right now. In fact, the Yamaha brass nouveau snare usually runs $300 new, so I beat that!!!

For those unfamiliar with my Yamaha sig snare collection, it now consists of:

14x6.5 JR Robinson Signature (lacquer/exotic version)
    14x6.5 Mike Bordin Signature
    13x7 Akira Jimbo Signature
    14x6.5 Manu Katche Signature
    The man called Shaggy.

Thanks, Jake! Is it sad that I already know which drum is next on the list?

Thank you, kind sir Yes, I will get them up ASAP once it arrives. Come to think of it, I have to start another pic thread for some other gear I bought recently. I need to get on the ball!

Yes, it is designed to look like one, for sure. However, I find the Manu a touch brighter and less dry, which is a plus in my book. And, I really dig the construction on this, with the zinc diecast batter hoop, and aluminum diecast reso hoop.

No luck whatsoever. It's getting so frustrating that I'm pondering just keeping them and trying to break the vicious cycle of buying and selling. And, to be perfectly honest, I am not sure I can afford 2 new Yamaha kits with the price increase they just put into effect. It's so steep that I actually started considering other brands, even though I am fond of no other brand as much as Yammie. Craziness.

Yeah it makes sense, similar to the deal you just stole off of the bay, everything is going extremely cheap. Great if you want to buy but not so great if you want to sell.

I hope your Manu is the seamless model and not the recent mass produced snares.

Edit: The Manu is seamless by design (i.e. all Manu sig snares are seamless brass).
