    alright chad smith uses a steel snare that is the same sizes as my sensitone how would I tune it to accomplish a sound like this (I know its a recording)

    Coated Ambassador on top, hazy ambassador on the bottom and have them tuned on the higher side. The hazy should be about a perfect 4th higher than the batter head. Tap in front of each lug while pressing in the middle of the head to make sure it's tuned evenly. And hit the head's center when you play.

        like the other guys said lots of tension

        his signiture snare he does not use to often (only in clinics from what ive seen)

        he does not really know his equipment to well.... (if you have seen his eastern rim dvd you know what im talking about. )

        he just knocks the hell out of it
