I've used a few. I find them to sound quite harsh and cold. Not really my kind of sound. They look cool, especially on acrylic snares, but I'd still stick with coated heads.

I use one, a K falam II clear head on my Dw Edge and I like it, although I think that the coated one suits it better.

I have a clear ambassador on my Pearl Philharmonic. It gives a very clean sound, although one day I'll probably get bored of it and change back to a renaissance.

my drum teacher and i were talking about this awhile ago, people always have coated and clear heads on toms but people never really tend to put clear heads on snares. we couldnt find an answer.

Mine's the Evans EC snare head, its not totally clear, more like a frosty beer mug kind of appearance, and I love it

I have tried only one other non-coated snare head, the Aquarian power center, the Carmine Appice model, and wasn't really sold on that one. The white dot makes for some messy white residue on cymbals after awhile

People tend to use coateds on snares because the rough surface is just as good as original calf skin when you use brushes. Try using brushes on a clear head, it won't work.

Yeap, it's a clear CS Dot. It's one of the better sounding clear heads for snare drums. Another one I don't really mind is the clear Powerstroke 3.

Frosted heads are different from clear. They sound very much more towards the coated side than the clear. I have an EC Reverse Dot and I love it myself!

Bermuda has used them at some shows. I think they sound horrible, too bright and little character, plus no brush work....

I used to have one on my 14"x6.5" Free-Floating Brass Snare. I think clear heads work better on metal snares, I personally loved the sound, but then I started breaking Emperors and had to switch to an Emperor X, which aren't available as clear heads, otherwise I'd still be using one.

They add a lot more focus and honestly give the snare more punch I think. Big fan right here.
