  • My New Snare: Pearl Sensitone Elite Aluminum

Thanks to my good friend Frank (also known as ntime here on PDF), I now have a brand new snare. This thing is awesome! It is one beast of a snare I was using a Ludwig Acrolite, same shell material and all with the aluminum, and I love that snare and the sound it gave me along with that light, airy, and smooth feel. The day I got it, I fell in love with it. Well when I thought about buying this one, I figured I wanted to compare how the two sounded with different shell depths. The 6.5 deep Sensitone gives some more body and fullness. No doubt, I still love both snares equally, and will probably keep both. But anyone looking for a very versatile and smooth sounding snare, this is it. I've been eyeing these up for a long time now, but just never pulled the trigger. Now I finally have one, and I can't believe I waited so long. I have a coated Ambassador on the batter and an Ambassador Snare Side head on the reso: perfect combo on all my snares!

Here are some outdoor shots! Gotta love the new camera!

    Enjoy

                    Hey that drum looks familiar!

After the last time we chat, I have now put an Evans Power Center Reverse Dot. WOW! It still has the pop, body, and depth I like of a Coated Emperor, but it's just a TAD more open. Not much more really. Either way, I LOVE IT!

Enjoy the drum, I know you will!

                          You can hear mine HERE

Evans Power Center Reverse Dot/Hazy 300. Tuned to the low-medium side which I like. I like meat, power, cut, body and pop instead of tinny thin crack.

Soon dude, soon. I'm at the shore this week on Senior Week, so I'll be home this weekend. Maybe I'll get some time to do it then

Yea man, thats what i like to see. I have the Gold Anodized one in the 14x5.5 size and that thing kills live. I would like a 6.5 one as well but my Supra does the trick.
