  • DW 14x5 maple snare- heads

I recently purchased a 14x5 maple DW snare in blue glass. I bought a coated Remo CS batter and have been using it for the past month and a halve. During the college holiday I am going to change it and try something new. I have the drum pitch high to give me a great crack and bright popping tone.

    Batter- Csharp
    Reso Clear Ambassador (SS)- G/A

I would like a warmer drier sound while still retaining sensitivity. I sometimes use it for brush work. I play loads of styles, but rock is my fav.

Vote in the poll and tell me why you chose the head(s). I may give you some pics...maybe...if I can be bothered .

Evans Coated G1 or Remo Coated Ambassador. I really can't believe those weren't options.

Well... They have no mufflinmg built in. Either rings vents or a centre dot. I just find them lacking in organic punch and the tone a little too bright.

+1 That's all I've ever used on either of my DW snares.
