  • DW Cast bronze ("Bell Brass") pics inside!

Here it is, a nice example of a good 'all-round' snare drum.

Obviously, 3mm thick casted bronze, very...if not the same as bell-brass apparently...weighs alot!!

As for sound, extremely wide tuning range, very sensitive, it can hold very low tunings well! tune it low and it'll sound "cannon-like", tune it high and it'll sound "deafening-like"....but although it is a loud drum, it is very diverse, it can be used for any style and sounds great played in any genre....I play anything from metal/rock/pop/funk/dance and even Drum & Bass. and this drum sounds great in all of them.

One example...If anyone likes Deftones, listen to the new album 'Saturday Night Wrist', Abe uses a Tama 6.5" Bell Brass snare, he used flanged hoops on that album.

I've added a few bad pics, but looks so much nicer in person.

I wonder if Dunnett supplies that shell...?

I tried one of those, and it's wicked snare! Cast bronze kills!

Given that he doesn't even make his own, I doubt it.

Well, Dunnett does supply the Titanium shell among others (regardless of who actaully cast the shell). It's not beyond possibility.

Ambassador coated, and ambassador snare side.....best combo in my view, hell they might not last as long as some, but sound very open and most versitile in my belief.

Haha yeh the trick throw off, just hated the DW delta throw off, too big, the trick works verrry well, just a nice little extra though, i don't believe it effects the sound massive, if at all.

I want that snare. Who do I have to kill to purchase it? I could cut off some limbs for it as well.

I believe they're not making this particular one anymore (i.e - the finish and size)

DW have a new line of metal shell snares now, featuring polished finishes (They look just like ordinary bronze/brass snares now) or you can get a "knurled finish"....both which dont even compare to the looks of this baby! Its ******* b*llocks!

Good thing is, now you can get them 6.5" deep and you can get cast brass / steel / copper n all that, all 3mm thick!! But you wont get the same classic finish as the previous bell-brass / Cast snare drums.

They're selling those ones in most shops....but I managed to get one of the last "raw finished" Cast snares in stock at DW USA. Caught it in the nick of time!

This snare doesn't go unmissed! People will remember you for such an awesome snare sound! Trust me!
