Frank - It's birch (inside/outside) mixed in with Kapur. Kupur is in the mahogany family and offers maximum hardness and resonance found only in the highest quality musical instruments. They use this wood on the Yamaha PHX series. This kit looks and sounds amazing in addition I really love the sizes were offering in the session series. This kit is top notch all the way around.

Similar in sound the new session has cutting attack because of the birch and nice warmth and killer low end because of the kupur. I was really excited when I heard we were bringing the Session Studio Classic back.

In the U.S., Session Studio Classic should be available tentatively in Mid-March.

Can you rename the Vision series "Export" and bring back the Export/Session/Masters trifecta of awesomeness?

Great move bringing back the Session. I love it!
I own or have owned drums and cymbals made by every major manufacturer. My go-to kit is a DW Collectors series set.
