I have a 1995 catalogue that dates your drums ^ (based on the badge) as SPX series which was 1994 to 1997.
Looking at your bass drum spurs suggests to me that your particular kit is more towards 94.
The shells are 7 ply birch and mahogany.
It is the "mahogany that gives the warmth of tone reminiscent of maple".
You can't always get a reply in 24 hours :P
