Will spike damage wooden floor?

    That would work, a square of plywood with carpet stuck to it on one side. Plywood should be reasonably thick say 1/2" at least, then carpet side down and spike goes into the plywood?

    Very likely depending on the thickness of the rug. I'd put down some rubber matting underneath the rug.

    Will spike damage wooden floor?

    How would you prevent the spike on the bass drum legs from going through carpet and damaging a wooden floor? Is this likely? I have not used my kit much yet but it will eventually sit on carpet on a wooden floor
