    Beautiful addition, Chris!

Curious though as to what made you decide on the 16x14 size as opposed to the typical “square” 16x16 option?

16” x 14” would be my preferred size as well.

        Thanks guys!

Regarding the choice of the 14" depth, I don't have a super strong argument, but...aesthetics, a little easier to transport, something different and I've heard can be a little easier to tune. I liked the idea aesthetically of having the two floor toms the same depth size (similar to having 16x16 & 18x16). Also given that I have a 20" bass drum, I thought about keeping everything else a little smaller I sort of wish my toms were a touch shallower, but I picked them up 2nd hand.

I put the Evans UV2 on it the other day and tuned it with the Rob Brown method, sounds great!

My largest rack tom on my forthcoming kit is a 16x14. I plan on using the stock heads for a little while just to get a sense of the drums. I do have Remo Pinstripes for the entire kit when I decide to change out. Evans are great heads, I know that tom will sound awesome!

Ahh gotcha gotcha, and nah that's some very sound logic on all fronts! And I certainly feel you from the aesthetic viewpoint; I'm always ridiculously obsessing over minuscule details that probably no one else will notice but it will drive me insane otherwise. XD

And big facts on the shallower toms. I knew before I got my newest kit that they were definitely going to be 10x7 and 12x8 after playing 10x8 and 12x9 for this long. The 9" depth on the 12" tom has always been hard for me to mount on the ICON exactly where I want it considering the 22" kicks but the 10x8 was no problem and due to how high I'd have to have it in order for it to be level with the 12x9, I knew going the 10x7/12x8 route would result in me being able to lower them down a tad. I got this kit as a b-stock but it was just about everything I wanted size wise (just need that 18x16)

              Sharp looking kit, Chris.
When's the second bass drum arriving?

Ha! Don't tempt me, I have thought about it As well as an 8".

I've actually also been thinking about custom ordering a snare. I'd love a 13x6.5 Ref Pure Matte Black. I've been quoted around $1.3k AUD.
