Thinking of ordering a 16" floor tom

I'm considering ordering a 16x14 Reference floor tom in Inca Gold Burst with black hardware to go with the rest of my kit.

I've been quoted $1150 AUD ($855 USD) and 5-6 months to get a new one from Pearl. Is this a reasonable price?

I've been looking for a second hand one, but they seem hard to come by. If has one or knows of one for sale, let me know

That is a fair price. I just bought 16x16 and 18x16 Reference floor toms in Scarlet Sparkle Burst on 1 April. They are $869.00 and $1026.00 respectively. I placed my order 1 day before the 2021 Price list was published, so I saved some money (just dumb luck in my favor . I was told 7-10 months wait time, most likely Christmas. I recommend ordering the drum. The waiting is terrible, but it will be totally worth it when those sweet drums arrive!

It is a reasonable price for Reference Series drums.

That sounds about right. Drums in NZ and Aussie are horrendously expensive. I guess shipping big wooden cylinders around the world costs a lot.

You will love the 16. I have had comments that they thought it was an 18. It’s a beast.

Super happy for you! You ordered yours about 4 months after me, and have already received it. I am waiting more than a year. I do not believe Pearl places orders into production in the order which they receive them. Seems pretty clear to me.
