  • 20x16 or 20x14 Reference Granite Sparkle with Black Hardware

I am seeking maybe a trade for a smaller Reference bass Drum in Granite Sparkle, maybe a 20x14, 20x16, or even an 18x16. My current
drum a 22x16 has a BB3 bracket and a back injury requires I now try to reduce the weight factor? Let me know any input available.

I'm not sure if you are looking for a trade here or just advice. Trade/sale postss aren't allowed on the forum per the rules. You can put a trade request in your signature, however.

If you want advice, I'd say that downsizing will get a lighter drum but a Ref is a Ref and the 20" is still going to be heavy. It might not be worth the cost to trade like this. It might be time for a different type of kit all together. Ref Pures are much lighter, for example.

It's going to be hard to find a Ref like you are looking for with black hardware. More likely you will find one to trade for with chrome hardware. Be open to stripping the hardware from the drums to be traded and just trading shells.

    Good luck.

I have a 20x16 and a 22x18. The 20x16 is significantly lighter and (in my opinion) sounds better. I hope your back heals quickly.

As you know I had a 20x14, for about 30 seconds.

          I agree Mike.
