If you are "discovering new muscles" then you are probably playing at a tempo that your body is uncomfortable with (or that your technique will not allow). You don't want to feel any strain whatsoever. Don't be afraid to play a certain rudiment at a painfully slow tempo to get the motion down. Everyone has been there at some point in their drumming career. Speed will come with time if you are consistent and patient.
No strain. Just proper technique uses muscles I haven't been using. I felt it afterward, not while practicing. I was actually quite relaxed and at a very comfortable/easy tempo.

            Hahahaha

I can't wait. But the place I ordered them from sent me a very generic invoice (no kit specifics...just Pearl Reference 6 piece) and hasn't answered my last couple emails about ensuring the righ parts and my ETA.

They are bad about email. Call them and ask to speak to their manager. You'll get somewhere quicker that way.
