          Hi Rob, I play both ways, it just depends what the tune requires. I have new beats to the left and quick beats on the right. I also like to switch between the HH and ride bell (upbeat, down beat) in some grooves. Also there was a track I recorded earlier this year where I was playing a double stroke in a quarter note pattern on my ride while I played single stroke eighth note pattern on the new beat HH's on the left (left hand played the upbeat on the snare), a fun groove.

          The new beats are set up where they are because I like to play with my left heel on the HH pedal and my left toe on the left kick pedal when I'm playing double kick grooves or triplets and quads with HH closed them open with a double stroke on the HH (first one with the HH closed and second with it open).

          I agree. I'm constantly moving things here and there to get it just right. I'll still have a lot to learn about the rack system but man is this thing solid.
