***Trade Root Beer Fade For Purple Craze***

Hey there guys, i recently purchased a 8 by 7 root beer fade rack tom, my whole kit is the purple craze finish but this was the only tom i could find in this size, the drum sounds and looks amazing but i am looking to trade the tom for the same size in the purple craze finish to match my kit. If anyone is interested or knows anyone who might be interested let me know!

why would you buy a tom that you didn't really want?

I wanted the tom, at the time when i purchased the tom i was not worried about the colour because my reference wouldn't leave my basement. I couldn't find the tom in the purple craze finish so i settled with this one, but ive been gigging quite often with my ref latley and would like to have the matching tom.

I'm sure you already know this, but you should have just ordered it in purple craze from a dealer and paid a bit more and waited rather than going ebay. If noone trades you which seems to be very difficult to do long distance, you're going to be stuck unless you can ebay or craigslist it and will have paid almost double for a tom you already have. Hope it works out for you.

I know, i was in a rush at the time and i just wanted the tom and didn't want to wait, which i really regret now lol. But what i was thinking of doing, is wraping the tom in a finish to match the kit a little better, i know someone here in my area that could wrap the tom for me but i dont know if i could find a good match. I was thinking like a black glass glitter or a deep purple glass glitter? Any suggestions?

That snare looks terrible in the picture i have put all new black chrome hardware on that snare! It now looks like the ludwig black beauty, and it is no longer my main snare! I have a glass glitter snare that matches the kit ALOT better!

Good news!

I just called a local custom shop and i can almost get an exact match to the purple craze finish the thing is i have to wait 2 months for the wrap to come in! I should have just waited for the actual tom in the first place!

If you want my opinion, I would sell that rootbeer fade drum on ebay or craigslist first. Give it a chance otherwise you'll be ruining that beautiful lacquer job. You may decide after you get the wrap that it's not working for you. If that happens, you'll have ruined the rootbeer fade finish and you'll be back to square 1.

For a kit like a Reference I couldn't stand having a drum knowing that it wasn't an exact match and a wrap to boot with my kit. Your kit deserves the REAL thing.

You don't order directly through Pearl. You just go to any authorized Pearl dealer (Guitar Center or you favorite local music stores are an example) and tell them what you want. They will then put the order in to Pearl who will then put the order in to PMI over seas. It's that easy. The wait is the hard part, but boy is it worth it.

you would have a better chance of trading the purple craze kit for a rootbeer fade kit then just the tom.

i guess the only solution is to sell the tom on ebay and order the purple craze one, a costly mistake but one i assume you wont make again.

Thanks alot for your help guys it is very much appreciated! i got my kit directly from the the music store and it was in stock! So i lucked out and didn't have to wait. That tom i made the mistake of buying was also in stock so i didn't have to wait. I was playing that 8" today and i can not sell it and not get another one! It is just amazing!! and i dont think i could ever give up that purple craze finish either!!!! **$
