  • Finish Problem

Hi everyone. I purchase this Pure Reference in mid 2016 new. In the last month I noticed a strange marks appearing on the toms. I cleaned the whole kit with a product in Australia called Mr Sheen, which I have used in the last 30 years. A week or so later it reappeared . So this time I disassembled all the toms and polished them with Maguires auto wax and came up beautifully . Sadly the marks came back again.
Although this kit arrived together, the marks are not on the Bass or snare. As with all my kits , I keep them in new condition and Pure has NEVER left my home.
Is there anything I could do about it because the most expensive kit I have ever purchased is my biggest disappointment.😢

Sorry to hear about your drums. I am not familiar with
Mr. Sheen. I don’t know the ingredients but if it cleans
glass it may contain chemicals that can harm certain
finishes. Do a search online and see what’s in it and
find out if people use it to clean drums. Best of luck.

Another member reported the same thing happening in January. His name is Tommy_D. Pearl definitely has an issue with some finishes. The good news is Pearl usually stands behind their products.

Cool but I like my chances living in Australia. If I have no luck , I’m thinking about getting them wrapped

He does not reside in the U.S., I've sent him info so it can be looked into.
